DEPT® welcomes Frederick Braake as Strategy Director

Global marketing and technology services company DEPT® has appointed Frederick Braake as Strategy Director.

Based across the Hamburg and Berlin offices, Frederick will lead the local creative strategy team, helping shape work for clients such as WERO, Hyundai, and BSH, and supporting new business pitches.

Frederick brings more than ten years of experience spanning creative strategy, cultural marketing, and strategic consulting. Most recently, Strategy Director at Accenture SONG, he spent much of his career at Jung von Matt and Jung von Matt NERD, where he developed campaigns for global brands such as Spotify, MINI, BMW, and Paramount.

Some of his notable projects include Spotify’s #PressPlay campaign, MINI x Pokémon at Gamescom, BMW’s 7 Series “This is Forwardism” campaign, and Paramount’s PlutoTV “Stream dich durch Raum und Zeit”. His work has earned multiple industry awards, and he’s lectured on Brand Strategy at the Brand University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg.

Reporting to Rens Verweij, VP of Creative Strategy, Europe and Head of Strategy DACH, Braake will work to build strategies that become cultural moments and drive real impact – blending data, tech and AI with bold ideas and fostering a team culture that thrives on creativity. By bridging DEPT®’s creative, media, and influencer expertise, he aims to position the agency as a leader in modern strategy, where insights spark action and brands genuinely connect with culture.

Frederick’s appointment follows DEPT®’s recent investment in strategic and creative leadership, including the addition of Käthe Lisson as Executive Creative Director.
