Bitvavo launches new positioning and first-ever brand campaign made by DEPT®

Upcoming crypto exchange platform Bitvavo is launching its first-ever brand campaign in collaboration with DEPT®. After a pitch trajectory, DEPT® won the business and started developing a new brand positioning and an introduction campaign of epic proportions as Bitvavo’s new lead agency.

Launching in the brand’s home base the Netherlands, the campaign is the first step in establishing the Bitvavo brand as the standard in the crypto market, offering people access to the opportunities of crypto through a safe and solid platform to buy, sell, and store more than 175 digital assets. Bitvavo already has more than 1 million users through its homepage and app. 

“Since its founding in 2018 Bitvavo has had the mission to make digital currencies accessible to everyone. A strong product focus has led to us becoming domestic market leader in the Netherlands within a few years. Of course, we are proud that we have grown solely by word of mouth thus far. However, we want to reach an even larger audience with Bitvavo, and show them we are the crypto exchange. This multichannel brand campaign is the first chapter in that journey”, says Marcel Ribbens, Head of Brand and Communication at Bitvavo. 

Centered in the campaign is an impactful video concept in which we see award-winning actor Sam Spruell (The Hurtlocker, Taken 3, Legend) jump into a wild storm, symbolizing the turbulent world filled with opportunities of crypto, eventually landing on a solid foundation amidst all of this: the emblematic Bitvavo logo.

“We connected with Bitvavo on the topic of using symbolism to depict this new and exciting industry to a broad audience. Our story combines realistic moments with abstract elements of nature in full force. In the end, we use this metaphor to tell everyone: if you want the exciting opportunities of crypto but through a safe, reliable, and solid platform – Bitvavo is the platform for you.” says René Verbong, Executive Creative Director at DEPT®.

The campaign will be launched in a broad variety of formats, from TV and radio to online videos in every possible configuration. Along with this, a series of outdoor spectaculars and OOH will be part of the campaign, letting everyone know: crypto starts with Bitvavo.
