CREATING THREE INTERACTIVE ROOMS

To tackle the fact that the features of the Philips Hue smart lighting range were difficult for customers to understand, Signify asked us to come up with an online solution. They needed a digital experience that would explain the products in a simple, understandable way and would showcase their main features in an engaging digital environment.

So, we’ve created an interactive demonstration of Philips Hue smart lighting products in a virtual online home. An online environment where users could experience the range of features offered by the Philips Hue range and become interested in purchasing the products for themselves.

Experience Philips Hue gave users a new and engaging way to interact with and experience the benefits of smart lighting in their home. It used some unique and innovative techniques to create the interactive sequences, which fused different digital disciplines, like 3D with creative coding.

ENGAGEMENT LEADS TO INTEREST

Each interactive room showed high user engagement, with conversion rates of between 12% and 14%. The Netherlands’ version of the website attracted over 120,000 unique visitors between January and August 2017. The original platform was intended to explain only a few key features that the product has. However, due to the success of the first version of the website, it evolved into an experience where more than ten different features are explained across four different interactive rooms.

We focused on building engaging ways for users to interact with the different features of Philips Hue lights, in order to raise awareness and interest in the products.

Digital, social and various technologies were used to create the experience, including 3D rendering, projection mapping, video sequences, and sound design.
