DEPT® continues investment in Germany, unites under one brand, and announces new leadership

DEPT® ramps up its investment in Germany after continuous years of business growth by uniting under one brand, expanding its leadership team, and opening a new flagship office in Berlin.

The agency has seen consistent growth in the market over the past four years, with revenues reaching €67M in 2022. Its team in Germany works with clients including smart, eBay, C&A, H&M, Douglas, and Philips to deliver end-to-end experiences across both technology and marketing.

Uniting under one brand

Effective today, marketplaces and Amazon agency FACTOR-A/DEPT®, hyper-personalized content-at-scale shop FEED/DEPT®, and marketing technology agency BYTE/DEPT® will unite with the agency’s existing marketing and technology teams under a single brand. The teams already work together as one integrated team for a number of clients in the German portfolio, including automotive brand smart, which the agency supports with a fully integrated service offering across customer experience, brand and advertising, and data and growth.

With offices in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Stuttgart, the team in Germany comprises nearly 500 creative, growth, experience and engineering specialists. A leading hub for disruption in tech, in recent years the German team has invested in its emerging tech skills, delivering world class Web3 experiences for clients, including Webby Winners H&Mbeyond Showroom and Hypewear by ABOUT YOU. Recently, DEPT® also set a record by being named Network of the Year at the Webby Awards for the second consecutive year. 


To spearhead the next phase of the agency’s growth in the market, Verena Sandbote will be promoted to Managing Director of DEPT® in Germany, as well as remaining on the management team in the Hamburg office. In Berlin, the company has opened a new flagship office, located in the Kreuzberg district, which will be led by Managing Directors Tobias Cummins and Tim van Vliet. Cummins takes on the role in addition to his responsibilities as DEPT®’s Global SVP Clients. Tim van Vliet joins the Berlin leadership team after several years leading the Growth operation for DEPT® in the Netherlands.

To celebrate this moment, DEPT® will be at OMR (May 9-10), showcasing its pioneering work in masterclasses with clients including BSH, Medela, H&M and more.
