Vitesse supporters now continuously up-to-date with new fan app

Eredivisie football club Vitesse launched a new app today for supporters with a ‘yellow and black heart’. The app, developed in collaboration with the Vitesse fan platform and digital agency Dept, is available for iOS and Android.

“The supporters were very enthusiastic about the idea of a fan app”, says Mascha van Werven, Head of Marketing at Vitesse. “We have also presented this to the Vitesse fan platform, which consists of a diverse group of 50 Vitesse supporters, who have contributed to the discussion about many Vitesse-related cases for a year. We have included their feedback in the development of the app and we are very happy that the first version is live.”

The new app of the Arnhem based club contains, for example, a live match center, which provides supporters with real-time information of all the action on the field during the match, such as which player has scored, whose shot hit the woodwork and who received a yellow card.

“This allows the club to offer its supporters an all-round digital experience,” Paul Beentjes, Digital Account Manager at Dept, adds. “With the app, supporters can keep themselves up-to-date with the latest Vitesse news, easily order tickets or merchandise and view the ‘passports’ of all Vitesse players.”

Michaël van Rijn, Digital & Innovation Manager at Vitesse: “Because the supporters are the heart of our club, we want to be able to involve them in the best way possible throughout the season and during the matches. With the app their club is always within reach and they won’t miss a moment. In regards to the further development of the app: we will of course do this in collaboration with the supporters.”
