UNICEF and DEPT® join hands to launch new donation platform

UNICEF Netherlands has partnered with global digital agency DEPT® to enhance the digital charitable giving experience for supporters in the Netherlands.

The first milestone: a new and improved donation platform. This marks the first milestone of the partnership between the Dutch UNICEF team and the B-Corp certified digital agency, which commenced collaboration in late 2023. 

UNICEF approached DEPT® with a request for a new donation platform. DEPT® developed a comprehensive approach that extends beyond a simple website redesign, focusing on creating a complete donation journey that inspires hope and empowers individuals to make a tangible difference. The aim is to create an end-to-end digital experience driven by the needs and interests of users and data.

Given today’s context of global permacrisis, many feel powerless in the face of overwhelming challenges. UNICEF’s mission to address immediate and long-term crises laid the foundation for the platform. By sharing stories of those impacted and illustrating how donations contribute to immediate relief and long-term objectives, the new platform is designed to make charitable giving more concrete and meaningful. Focusing on hope and perspective, the new donation platform wants to transform feelings of helplessness into actionable support, highlighting the real-world impact of donations.

The partnership between DEPT® and UNICEF Netherlands is built on collaboration, innovation and shared values. The project employed a comprehensive approach, leveraging DEPT’s expertise across UX design, data, technology, communications, and media to create a seamless end-to-end donation experience. The platform was designed to be data-driven and user-centric through ongoing optimisation.
