DEPT® has double reason to celebrate after achieving Gold partner status with Contentful, and being a finalist in the Lovie Awards for its project for the Eurovision Song Contest, built upon Contentful technology.
The ground-breaking virtual experience we created for the Eurovision Song Contest, which brought the host city to life in a magic, 3D world, is nominated for Best Audience Interaction in the Virtual & Remote Features category, and the Experimental and Innovation award in the Apps & Mobile Sites Features category.
With over 180 million viewers annually, the Eurovision Song Contest’s international fan base has flourished into a worldwide community. Its biggest fans often travel to the host country’s Eurovision Village — a space for fans to enjoy music and socialise. With mass gatherings restricted in 2021 due to the pandemic, Rotterdam Festivals, the Netherland-based venue hosting the 2021 contest, tasked Tribe Company and DEPT® with taking the event virtual. The result? A first-of-its-kind digital experience powered by Contentful.
The Eurovision Village is one of many successful projects DEPT® has delivered using Contentful technology, With clients including KFC, Pearsons and Co-op Live, DEPT® is at the forefront of innovating utilising Contentful’s headless capabilities.
DEPT®’s Global SVP, Technology & Engineering, Jonathan Whiteside, will be sharing some of our work with delegates at Contentful’s virtual Fast Forward event on 3 – 5 November. Sign up here.
