Dept has retained its podium place in Prolific North’s 2021 Top 50 Digital Agencies rankings, coming in third overall and number one in Manchester.

The PN Top 50 is the definitive listing of the North’s leading digital agencies working across web development, mobile, e-commerce, SEO and PPC. To provide an accurate barometer of the performance, results are independently confirmed and anchored on financials based on balance sheet/shareholder funds, turnover, pre-tax profit, headcount and growth.

Brian Robinson, Dept’s UK Managing Director, said: “As these results show, despite the disruption the pandemic has caused over the past year, Dept has remained stable. We were recently crowned Best Large Digital Company at the Digital City Awards, and being recognised again as a leading agency is a great boost for our team. We’re proud of the solutions we’ve created to help our clients pivot and accelerate growth in a disruptive year. An exciting future is ahead; we’re looking to expand our team and continue to innovate for our clients across creativity, technology and data, as well as ramp up our positive impact in the community.”

Dept launched groundbreaking projects in 2020, including a B2B marketplace for Just Eat and a brand refresh for the London Marathon. The agency continues strong client partnerships with Triumph Motorcycles and St. James’s Place, and has welcomed new projects from Nikon and Co-op Live.

The agency is laser-focused on growth and is making a big recruitment push to fuel its ambitions. Dept is hiring at least 20 candidates to join its UK team across a range of specialisms including design and UX, development, digital marketing, strategy and operations.

Additionally, as part of our goal of becoming the best agency in the world and for the world, Dept is creating opportunities to train the next generation of talent through a new internship programme. Dept has recently become climate neutral certified, which coincided with the release of our first impact report and marks the opening chapter in our quest to gain B Corp certification by the end of 2021.
