Our world has become digital; we shop, bank, book travel and engage with our doctors all online. And we’re raising our children to operate in a digital world. So, it’s only fitting to expect a digital educational experience that is better suited to today’s learners.
Unfortunately, this vision has been too slow to come to fruition. The education sector has been much slower to change its long-term approach to teaching and learning. But, COVID-19 changed all of that. More than 1.5 billion learners around the world were affected by the closure of educational institutions. Educational institutions at every level have had to create remote learning solutions in a short period of time, ushering in innovation and new approaches that will likely change the educational landscape forever.
Digital classrooms and remote learning is part of an inevitable transition. Like it or not, it’s here to stay. While many school systems were unprepared when the pandemic struck, they are learning to refine their teaching models to embrace this once-in-a-generation chance to reconfigure our educational systems and make them more accessible, more impactful, and more immersive for all students.
2021 will be a pivotal year in the education industry, with a number of key trends emerging that will continue to push the industry forward and hopefully help students and teachers around the world:
- Personalised education through technologies like machine learning and AI
