Our Manchester team is looking for an Application Support Analyst to be a vital member of an international team of talented engineers and experts. As an Application Support Analyst in the Digital Operations Services (DOS) team, you will be responsible for first and second line support of client applications. You will provide technical support, troubleshooting from issue through to resolution, and manage client communication throughout the process. What you’ll be doing

  • As an Application Support Analyst, you will be responsible for handling incoming requests and undertaking any relevant investigation through to issue resolution.
  • Ensuring issue and resolution information is captured accurately.
  • Liaising with clients and internal teams to understand, diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Working alongside the wider team (developers, project managers and infrastructure engineers), to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Working with Content Management System (CMS) implementations such as Sitecore and Optimizely (Episerver).
  • Troubleshooting on premise (Windows Server) and cloud hosted (AWS and Azure) applications.
  • Building an in-depth knowledge of all client applications and an understanding of the technical and business requirements of the application.

What you’ll be good at:

  • Level appropriate technical understanding of: ASP.NET, .NET Core, React, SQL, Windows Server, Cloud hosted (AWS, Azure) solutions.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) is desirable but not essential.
  • The ability to self-organise and prioritise workload.
  • Problem solving, analysing and troubleshooting effectively.
  • Ensuring a good level of customer service at all times

Quality Assurance Automation Test Analyst

For our Manchester office we are looking for a Quality Assurance Automation Test Analyst to work collaboratively with the developers and project managers to execute and validate test cases based upon system requirements.

As an Automation Test Analyst, you will be responsible for working with the QA team, to design and build appropriate automation test frameworks to reduce the amount of manual regression testing performed across the whole technology stack in order to increase speed to market. There would need to be a clear focus on Visual regression testing and End to end journey testing

You would need to demonstrate a clear understanding of automation testing and how it is embedded into the Project lifecycle. For example, what do they need to do from a QA point of view to increase coverage with speed, efficiency and repeatability in mind. You will be responsible for ensuring tasks are tested within project deadlines, and create and manage documentation of test results for each project. You will report defects accurately and manage through to successful resolution, as well as reporting progress of workload communication effectively and escalating where appropriate.

  • Minimum 2-3 years test/QA experience in a commercial environment
  • Specific web, mobile and multi-platform experience
  • Ability to maintain and build automation test frameworks
  • Familiarity with browserstack/saucelab integrations
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, K6
  • Working knowledge of Visual testing tools such as Percy, Chromatic or similar
  • Working knowledge of testing frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, Test Cafe or similar
  • Able to code with adherence to development principles such as SOLID, to write robust tests
  • Strong team player who has the ability to use their initiative and self-manage
  • Ability to work under pressure and successfully manage your own time

  • Some knowledge of Contract testing, API or Micro services automation would be desirable

For our Manchester office we are looking for a Business Analyst/Product Owner to join the Product Team working on projects across multiple client accounts, both big and small, across a number of technologies. You’ll be working collaboratively as part of a close knit, fully integrated team to build and maintain world-class websites.

As a Business Analyst/Product Owner you will take the lead of product development teams providing vision and direction to both internal and external stakeholders. The overall purpose of this role is to develop and oversee the execution of digital strategies that meet (and exceed) Dept’s clients’ expectations and objectives. 

You will help to lead and nurture the digital consultancy team, providing training and development to the team, as well as being a senior support to our clients. Working as part of a cross-functional team, you will oversee and help to execute digital strategies for a limited number of large clients.

A key element of the role will be working with the Digital Consultants and project teams to provide strategic input on client projects from inception to delivery, ensuring that a strategic mindset is applied throughout.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Day-to-day running of all client-facing delivery, overseeing all client services and delivery activity to drive excellence across the boar

  • Provide senior support to Digital Consultants on their client projects, developing opportunities and roadmaps to help them deliver against objectives
  • Act as a point of escalation where needed 
  • Understand client objectives and interests as well as the environment in which they operate and propose innovative solutions to help them succeed
  • Work with the team to articulate and visualise a strategic direction that addresses clients’ core challenges from a customer point of view
  • Think proactively to ensure potential opportunities for clients are explored
  • Understand Dept services and products and act as client partner to help drive value
  • Be curious about the latest digital trends and find ways to apply them for clients

Digital Project Manager

We are looking for a Digital Project Manager to join our Manchester office. You will drive web and mobile app projects through from initial concept to delivery.

As Project Manager, you will work with a range of clients on several different projects and must be adept at managing and building client relationships and reporting on the status of projects. You will be the key contact for clients, advising them on cost, available resource, problems and solutions. Liaising and updating stakeholders on the status of projects, you will track the project deliverables and match those with agreed deadlines. You will continuously assess working methods and processes and make recommendations for improvement. Oversee projects’ financial budget, notifying stakeholders of key cost implications, changes to budget, spending and cost changes

  • Have a strong background in digital project management working on projects from initial briefing to delivery;
  • Experienced in Agile project delivery;
  • Have agency experience with a passion for IT, e-commerce and digital projects;
  • Have previous experience project managing the development of web and mobile sites;
  • Adept at building effective client relationships and working with several stakeholders to deliver targets;
  • Strong communication with excellent presentation, report writing and data analysis capabilities;
  • Are able to work under pressure, change direction when required and work on a range of client projects at the same time.

We build exciting digital experiences for our global-scale clients, primarily in C#, .NET and utilising market leading content management platforms, as well more bespoke solutions.

We deploy our work across AWS and Azure with CI/CD pipelines in a DevOps environment. We have a passion for new technology, and are always eager to explore alongside proven technologies we know inside out.

We are looking for someone to join our team who can communicate clearly, work collaboratively on projects, and breakdown and solve problems to build solutions. They should work well alongside and within multi-disciplined teams; including front and back-end developers, DevOps engineers, designers, project management, etc.

 

As a .Net Developer at Dept, you will:

  • have a good understanding of C#, the .NET framework and .NET Core.
  • be familiar with best practices, as well as the common tools and frameworks of modern .NET development.
  • have experience building – as part of a team – scalable, performant and maintainable software.
  • be passionate about improving your craft, and sharing your knowledge with others.

Bonus if you have experience of:

  • CMS platforms: Sitecore, Episerver, Contentful, etc.
  • Cloud native development for PaaS and/or SaaS providers.
