CaryHealth

AI-driven app helps clinicians search 90% faster

CaryHealth, a US-based health intelligence platform, is on a mission to improve patient outcomes with its pharmaceutical solutions. With years of clinical, technology, and analytics experience, it has revolutionised how the industry manages health services.

Its most recent venture, in partnership with DEPT®, is Clair, an AI reference app that helps clinicians search 90% faster than before.

Accelerating clinical search

Through its integrated ecosystem, CaryHealth helps pharmaceutical companies and health systems optimise workflows, validate data, enhance patient care, and manage direct prescription deliveries.

More recently, they’ve been working to alleviate several clinician pain points, including references that could not be customised, inaccurate resources, time-consuming research, and data gaps. Knowing that AI had the potential to solve these problems, they developed a clinical AI reference solution: Clair.

Clair lets clinical teams access the latest pharmaceutical and medical information via verified medical documents. This simplified resource saves countless hours of research, freeing up healthcare professionals’ time for patient care.

While the 2023 web version of Clair already supported early adopters in the healthcare sector, CaryHealth recognised the need for a mobile app. A mobile app would allow them to improve accessibility, break into the medical and pharmaceutical markets, and drive adoption on a larger scale. Enter DEPT®.

Creating an intuitive, reliable experience

Using React Native, we developed a mobile app for Clair.

React’s versatile framework allowed us to build for both Android and iOS simultaneously. It also meant developing interfaces by component without waiting for a full build to be generated. This sped up the time to release and enhanced the product feedback cycle, allowing for fast and responsive change and regular delivery cycles. The process required close collaboration between CaryHealth’s and DEPT®’s backend and frontend development teams to ensure reliability and efficiency.

The finished mobile app is a seamless and consistent experience for users on any device, saving time and resources while laying a solid foundation for Clair’s growth in the pharmaceutical market.

Transparency and ease of use

Introducing AI into the medical industry requires transparency beyond the standard. Therefore, the app’s design and build needed to balance AI responses with the raw data powering them.

In the app, every answer the AI provides displays the data powering it. This ensures trust and transparency and supports follow-up questions when additional justification is needed.

Clair also has a suite of tools within the app that guide users. Whether they’re using AI for the first time or have a specific query, the app helps them arrive at an accurate answer. Additional tools cater to common use cases such as drug interactions, clinical summaries, med reviews and ICD10 code definitions.

Last but not least, the app’s search function offers both open-ended and guided searches to help medical professionals find information quickly.

Inspiring adoption across the medical community

The Clair app helps clinicians search 90% faster than before. And recently, the app’s early adopters provided positive feedback at one of the largest pharmaceutical conferences in the industry.

The next phase will increase Clair’s impact and adoption within the medical community via the app’s subscription service. Ongoing AI and app improvements are required to keep it at the forefront of medical reference tools.

The partnership between CaryHealth and DEPT® guarantees Clair stays ahead in clinical AI solutions, ready to adapt to new developments in healthcare technology.
