world experiences, launching \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/augmented-reality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the world\u2019s largest AR platform<\/a>\u201d. Apple is also expected to announce new AR glasses in the very near future, which would undoubtedly skyrocket the mainstream adoption and usage of augmented reality. But even without Apple\u2019s rumoured product development, the market for AR is growing at a rapid pace;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/topics\/3286\/augmented-reality-ar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Statista<\/a>\u00a0expects the AR market to be valued at more than $18 billion USD by 2023.\u00a0\t<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class='block-title-and-content__item'><div class='block-title-and-content__item-inner'><p\t\tclass=\"typography block-typography__typography typography__color--onyxGrey typography__size--regular-body typography__align--left\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tRetail consumers have welcomed brands\u2019 adoption of AR, so much so that demand is now greater than supply.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bigcommerce.com\/blog\/augmented-reality-ecommerce\/#augmented-reality-in-ecommerce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Multiple studies<\/a>\u00a0have found that 63% of consumers believe AR will transform shopping experiences, and 61% would prefer to purchase on sites offering AR technology. In addition, 70% of consumers have said they would be more loyal to brands incorporating AR within their shopping experiences. Despite this, brands aren\u2019t quite meeting customer needs,\u00a0with 53% believing retailers are failing to take full advantage of AR.\t<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class='block-title-and-content__item'><div class='block-title-and-content__item-inner'><p\t\tclass=\"typography block-typography__typography typography__color--onyxGrey typography__size--regular-body typography__align--left\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tJames Dye, UK Business Director at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.deptagency.com\/partner\/commercetools\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">commercetools<\/a>, backs up this opinion: \u201cConsumers are increasingly seeking out augmented shopping experiences such as virtual fitting rooms, personalised shopping experiences, contactless or do-it-yourself options and alternative ways to shop.
