Fast-forward a couple of years and we have developed a design system, completely renewed the client dashboard and are rebranding aegon.nl. It\u2019s safe to say that both teams have integrated quite well \u2014 our Depsters are working across no fewer than seven digital teams at Aegon. So setting up a design system \u2014 consisting of a collection of the best principles, patterns and components within the organisation \u2014 was a very logical first step. From the get-go we involved all stakeholders in the innovations, while keeping up the pace. Developers, for example, could now view and use each other\u2019s code much more easily, which accelerated the entire development process. With this in mind we started looking at multiple branches within the organization and created a more uniform \u2018language\u2019 for these teams. We documented all of this in a design system.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<img\n\t\t\t\t\tsrc=\"https:\/\/www.deptagency.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Aegon-06-scaled.jpg\"\n\t\t\t\t\talt=\"\"\n\t\t\t\t\tclass=\"block-assets-and-copy__media js-block-assets-and-copy-media\"\n\t\t\t\t\tdata-animation=\"scale-fade\"\n\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n<div\n\tclass=\"block-assets-and-copy js-block-assets-and-copy\"\n\tdata-variant=\"full-width-content\"\n\tdata-content-align=\"center\"\n>\n\t<p\tclass=\"text text-sans-48 block-assets-and-copy__title\"\n\tdata-animation=\"slide\" data-animation-target=\"words\" >A less complex customer portal<\/p><div\tdata-animation=\"slide-fade\" data-animation-target=\"inner-items-separate\" data-animation-delay=\"0.15\" data-animation-stagger=\"0.2\" class=\"block-assets-and-copy__content\" >\n\t<p\tclass=\"text text-sans-24 block-assets-and-copy__text\"\n\t>For a strategic process like this one, it\u2019s only logical to start at the base. And the base consists of employees. Keeping this in mind, we first focused on the people of Aegon. The \u2018My Aegon\u2019 team \u2014 which is responsible for the client dashboard \u2014 turned out to be the most complex on several levels. We therefore opted for a less complex architecture, less dependence on different teams and more responsibility within the team itself. This resulted in shorter lines of communication, making it possible to communicate faster.\u00a0<br><br>With the same \u2018My Aegon\u2019 team, we looked into the Aegon app. Which features does the app have right now and what needs to be changed or added to better match customer needs? From here we set up a new strategy for the app which, more so than before, relies on existing environments and knowledge. In short: everything that Aegon already has in-house is now deployed and utilised more optimally.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<img\n\t\t\t\t\tsrc=\"https:\/\/www.deptagency.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Aegon-08-scaled.jpg\"\n\t\t\t\t\talt=\"\"\n\t\t\t\t\tclass=\"block-assets-and-copy__media js-block-assets-and-copy-media\"\n\t\t\t\t\tdata-animation=\"scale-fade\"\n\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n<div\n\tclass=\"block-assets-and-copy js-block-assets-and-copy\"\n\tdata-variant=\"full-width-content\"\n\tdata-content-align=\"center\"\n>\n\t<p\tclass=\"text text-sans-48 block-assets-and-copy__title\"\n\tdata-animation=\"slide\" data-animation-target=\"words\" >Acquia: a new CMS<\/p><div\tdata-animation=\"slide-fade\" data-animation-target=\"inner-items-separate\" data-animation-delay=\"0.15\" data-animation-stagger=\"0.2\" class=\"block-assets-and-copy__content\" >\n\t<p\tclass=\"text text-sans-24 block-assets-and-copy__text\"\n\t>Currently we are working on aegon.nl, which will be launched on a new CMS called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deptagency.com\/en-au\/partner\/acquia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Acquia<\/a>.
