Snap will let users share stories outside Snapchat with a new web player: Snap’s latest effort to fight back against slow growth and the ever-looming threat of Facebook is to bring its flagship Stories product to the web. That way, both Snapchat users and those who don’t have accounts on the mobile app can view the photos and videos.

Twitter now lets advertisers sponsor publishers’ Moments: Twitter has added a new advertising product to its lineup. The company announced today it’s offering brands the ability to sponsor Moments — the “Stories”-like feature that includes a series of tweets, often including images, GIFs and video — from select publishers.

To ride the virtual reality wave, start paddling now: An industry segment that truly started no more than a year ago with the launch of headsets such as Oculus Rift and HTC Vive is already a multi-billion dollar enterprise, with every major tech player — Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Intel, etc. — hoping for a piece of the pie.
